Scouting is now a world wide youth movement for 6 to 25 year olds, supported by Adult Leaders
of all ages. The aim is to develop young people (physically, mentally and spiritually)
so that they may become responsible citizens.

The Scouting programme provides young people with the opportunity to try new activities
that they may not find elsewhere.

The Scout Movement was formed in 1907 by hero of the Siege of Mafeking, Robert Baden-Powell.
BP started the Boy Scouts but the Movement has changed over the years to reflect the social trends and
girls are now accepted in all the sections.

Scouting is lead by a Chief Scout, the first being Baden Powell and the current Chief being Bear Grylls,
the TV adventurer, who took over the role in Summer 2009

4th Aldershot W.E.B.S. Scout Group was formed in 1913 and is part of the
Blackwater Valley Scout District in Hampshire Scout County.

The W.E.B.S. part of our name comes from the association with the old West End Boys School.
